OMG I only have a poem to answer his Besame mucho!!

| Tuffy! Beautiful, great! Me encanta "tus manos trémulas que tejen el aire y danzan al son" You actually captured the essence of what we feel when we hear him. Sorry I have to say this in Spanish. Ayer estaba escuchando Cum dederit y me daban escalofríos! I guess I could totally fall in love with him if I weren't myself already in love (however, my fiance is a little jealous [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ) I suppose this is not your first poem You should send it to him, he would appreciate it. if I were him I will certainly be flattered! | |

| Tuffy, totally agree with Pilar! Gorgeous and cute! I just saw the "Ohimè!, Ch` io cado"of Lozt and is absolutely delicious, different and compelling, and Philippe is handsome to fall back! Mon Dieu! What kind of slavery is this delightful slavery? Really, really, I think as Pilar says in the other topic of "Los pájaros perdidos" Philip does not realize that playing with fire with the audience. | |

| Dear friends, Friday will be the best day of the year: it's my birthday (50 years ...) and especially Philippe sings with Arpeggiata in Geneva and I have a ticket! Who comes to see the concert? The concert program: Teatro d'Amore. Perhaps a few pieces of Pajaros perdidos? I will tell you that. What a wonderful gift! Impossible to ask for more! Besitos queridos amigos B. | |

| Dear bpidouxl, I'll be at the Geneva concert too... and 50 this year as well... but in July! We've got both lots to celebrate I'm so impatient to listen to Philippe with l'Arpeggiata this time as I was already so lucky to see him last year with Jérôme Ducros in Saint-Prex and with Concerto Köln at Le Sentier. Moreover, when reading Joanna's comments & looking at snaps, can't wait, ohlala, yes!! Bisous from ppc | |

| Congratulations, bpidouxl! I think you're going to get lucky in Geneva and you'll see the same concert in Lodz, because there are many pieces of Philip sang "Teatro d'Amore" and a few, at the end of "Los pájaros perdidos", I think that is the same program. Have fun and enjoy well the incendiary "Besame Mucho" with Philip and fun game between him and Doron Sherwin in a "Ohimè ch'io cado" constantly interrupted by citations Doron makes Mozart, Bizet, Stravinsky and even "Mission impossible" (I think). I laughed a lot with these two. | |

And at the very last moment he quotes the Gonzaga family signal which Monteverdi himself composed into some of his pieces - see the opening ritornello of L'Orfeo or "Domine ad adiuvandum" from Vespro. (By this time I usually laugh so hard I have tears in my eyes...)

| SJuli: That's it! All the time I was singing what Doron played (how well this guy plays an instrument so simple), and it seemed Monteverdi, but could not locate it. Loved the final jump of Philippe, tired of so many interruptions (after I left with my heart in a thread in the last fragment, sung so beautifully)!. His sense of humor seems as innocent as stimulant. I would have been there ... | |

| Doron is a wonderful musician, the sound of the instrument are so deep and sad at times and he has so much humor! I like to learn more about the cornetto, what is the origin of this instrument? | |

What I understand and I totally feel the same: I would have loved to be at this concert, I love the videos (despite of the rather poor quality with a lot of sound interruptions while zooming) and I'm looking forward soooooo much to my next concert in Amsterdam - less than 4 weeks more to wait!!!!!

| Sorry Nenuphar, I got dragged by my feelings so I coudn't write them down in English... Ayer estaba escuchando Cum dederit y me daban escalofríos!" Then, the translation would be: the point is that his voice is such an evocative amd sensual one that it stays underneath your skin. So when youa ctually realized what was happening it is too late for you. It feels like a strong crush that beats you because of its violence. Sometime I believe he's oblivious to the powerful effect he exerts over his audience. Yesterday I was listening to "Cum dederit" and I got goosebumps! I did my best, I hope it is clearer! | Duffy, thanks for the review. SJuli, this review is very descriptive, even lists the instruments. About Philippe one big praise:) It also accentuates the funny side of the concert and Philippe's ability to make fun of himself. A quick translation of the best paragraph: "Jaroussky attracted especially in "Stabat Mater" by Giovanni Felice Sances. But didn't he enthused also in another pieces? A delicate, but strong voice, a phenomenal technique which enables him with lightness/facility and strength to manage all the wiles of the baroque composers, and a nature and native grace - no way to take your ears and eyes off from Jaroussky."

| OMG is it true "Standing ovation and four encores"? I never thought that it is possible. It is almost the same as to sing second concert at the same day. By the way I have found good way to translate articles by Google Chrome browser. It gives you an offer to translate any web page automatically. Translation is good enough to understand everything. | The concert in Geneva is over and I just returned. Why are these perfect moments so short? In the Victoria Hall the sound is absolutely perfect. The program was the same as in Lodz. I wondered how it was possible to move from Monteverdi to South American music of the new disc: but with L' Arpeggiata anything is possible! Nuria Rial was not here, Christina Pluhar said she was sick, too bad! But on the other side, Phil sang a little more ... The Stabat Mater, the Oblivion, sublime! Again, total happiness, excitement on edge .. Difficult to sleep after a while so intense ... I could not have asked most beautiful birthday gift. And I felt he was singing for me (on peut rêver ...) Baci a tutti B. | |

| Daer friends, Thank you for all your wishes. I dreamed of this concert and now we must wait for the next ... I found the public in Geneva a little "soft". Why have you stopped to applaud after two encores? The piece of Piazzola Los Pajaros perdidos was beautiful, the voice of Phil done wonders in all styles. But I'm not convinced by the idea of taking Besame Mucho, there are traditional songs more orginial to rediscover, no? Besitos B. | |

| [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I like very much Bésme mucho, it's true it is a well-known song but very emblematic for Spanish audience. There are a lot of beautiful song in Spanish around the world, there is a long tradition since XVIIth century. Juan Diego Flórez sang "Caballero de fina estampa" among others and he actually chooses great Spanish songs. I would love to see Philippe singing more in Spanish, but I have to confess: Ho un devole per l'italiano...

| Dear bpidouxl:In the topic of " Los pájaros perdidos"(Deluxe-Edition) I have written what I think about L'Arpeggiata's last CD and do not want to repeat very much, but I believe that I understand it very well. The program of the concert of Geneva was absolutely precious, because almost all the works were of L'Arpeggiata's previous works and I believe that the added ones of the new CD were an authentic divertimento for the public, who is grateful very much a bit of frivolous banquet in the classic music. Also I like much that the musicians play and transmit to the listeners the happiness of doing what gives them the desire and to continue being marvellous. But … Philip is so exceptional that one feels as if his voice was concealing under a golden mantle some musical works that only have quality of silver, or of copper.. I do not want to be radical, bpidouxl, it is that the voice of Philip is too precious and everything what touches turns it into a jewel, And one ends up by losing the perspective. I agree with you in whom " Bésame, bésame mucho! " it is a very popular, nice and sticky bolero, but the electrifying eroticism of the interpretation of Philippe (who left KO me ) transforms into a masterpiece of an abandon lightly challenging, that turns out to be explosive by the end of a recital. In the CD, s this bolero Raquel Andueza sings it and sings it well, since other hundreds of singers have done it before and they will do it after her. But Philip … if LÄrpeggiata's intention was to demonstrate that his favorite singer is capable of doing any thing wonderfully well, has obtained it fully. As for " Los pájaros perdidos ", so it, a crown of very few gold carat for a King who has everything. I am sure that for you Sances's "Stabat Mater" costs infinitely more than the whole production than the complete disc of "Los pájaros perdidos". For me also, bpdouxl, undoubtedly someone. Excuse my horrible English, every time I use it worse. Pilarddcc: sorry, nice, but I feel it. | |

| Well, it's a good thing that he is embracing the lighter repertoire also, for a man who used to dislike pop music. (But then again: these are classics of course.)
I have to agree with Rosa here: it does feel a little bit like a waste, to use this golden voice for a lead (Pb, plumbum, the element) repertoire. But even the lead repertoire he turns into something very shiny and he actually adds something new to any golden oldie he does. And as long as he is enjoying himself, he can knock himself out, it's fine with me.
