| nanina, thank you for remembering me this unforgetable experience. It seems the cameraman had very similar angle of view as I had - it's like to be there again . Could somebody translate, what Philippe says, please. | |

| Jarofil,
I can translate if you want but it'll be after Christmas. Is this OK? Do you want just what Philippe says or the whole video (which will obviously take longer!)?

| Artemis, you're very kind, thank you. It's OK just what Philippe says. No problem with waiting of course, without your help I would be completely lost. At first enjoy your Christmas. | |

| Jarofil,
I hope you had a good Christmas.
Here's what Philippe says:
"I think the work of Bureau Export is fundamental. I think it's really very important because, for one thing, we have a lot of really fantastic young artistes in France and I think one should emphasize this - sometimes you need a helping hand, sometimes just a small thing is needed, something not very much. Sometimes all it takes is a little helping hand with one or two concerts and suddenly things take off. Things took off for me like that in France with some meetings and (good) opportunities and I think (it's good) if people like Bureau Export can help, really give a helping hand in the beginning - because afterwards, if people are really talented, things will take care of themselves - but sometimes to make yourself known, you need to have some support behind you because otherwise you'll never get the opportunity to be heard in a certain (concert) hall or by a certain conductor. So, it's very important, obviously ...."
Couldn't help noticing in the interview that Philippe has a nasty spot on his chin. Could he have been over-indulging in the hospitality chocolate in his hotel room?! He really needs someone to look after him ....

| Artemis, I noticed that pimple also, perhaps he ate too much of the German liverwurst. It tastes fine and arouses interesting spots. I fear we have to include this point of care in our considerations about the body search queue, Perhaps it has to be looked for mics and hidden chocolate. | |

| Duffy,
OK, you can put the hidden chocolate search on the agenda provided I'm the one that's allowed to do it. That way, I could kill two birds with one stone - I like Philippe AND chocolate (evil little smile) ...

| Artemis, btw is this Bureau Export a state-run association or financed by private financial means? L'Institut Francais was also mentioned, I guess. Do you know anything about the Bureau Export?
Not to forget the chocolate, I'll see him in two weeks......(more evil smile)

| Neither liverwurst nor chocolate give you spots. It's hormones for young adolescents, and for grown ups it is a weakened immune system.
He's just tired or coming down with something.

| I always get spots, when I ate too much "Nutella", stop kidding me. And also of too greasy food. It was a small pimple, not more. :-)
But as my immune system is working perfect, thank you for considering me adolescent.... :-) :-)
Perhaps he had been reading too much in our forum and is terrified.....

| We get cravings for chocolate and fat during hormonal shifts. That is why you always get spots just around that time of the month. But it is the hormones that cause it, not the Nutella. Nutella is innocent. Nutella is holy. Hail Nutella.
Immunesystems as a general rule suffer from fatigue, emotions, cold and toxins. It goes with ups and downs. In down times you get the flu or a spot.
And damn right he is terrified of all these crazy idiots here who want to press his suits, search for microphones and take away his chocolate!

| Duffy,
Bureau Export is a "not for profit" organisation which receives funding from the French public and private sectors, including the Min. of Culture, Min. of Foreign Affairs and professional organisations in the music industry. Its object is to help French and international music professionals work together and to promote professional exchanges between France and other countries.
I sincerely hope that Philippe doesn't read what is written here. The poor man would be terrified of stepping out of his appartment! He strikes me as being a very grounded young man, so I'm sure he's following the sensible artiste's golden rules :
(a) Don't "Google" yourself (b) Don't read your fan-sites
That said, the hidden choccie search is still mine!

| Do anyone know if this kind of organization like "Bureau Export" is for artists too? | |

| On a serious note here. (yes, sometimes I am!) All of us here make fun of just about everything here. But we are the people he needs to fear least of all. Because we know and respect and do not cross the line between an artist when he is working, and when he is just being himself. If I ever saw him "in the wild", (shopping, or in a cafe or restaurant or boarding a train or just walking in the street) so to say, I would pretend not to recognize him and leave him alone. (I would even wait with fainting until after he has gone out of sight. ) I have done so with every celebrity I have ever encountered in my life, out of respect for their privacy. I think that respect goes for everybody here. Edit: typo

| Caroline, Duffy,
I'm sorry, I didn't mean to offend anyone. On re-reading my post, I realize that it sounds a lot snottier than I actually intended. I haven't had a sense of humour by-pass, honest!

| I haven't been able to catch up on all the discussions lately but now that I've been reading some more posts (I'm not saying I can actually follow the discussion, haha) I'm sitting here smiling...I love the sense of humour in this place. | |

| OK, Caroline, I'd consider that a very fair exchange!
Actually, your post struck a chord because I once sat at a table next to Philippe in a café - or rather, he sat at a table next to mine, since I was there first. Out of respect for his privacy, I did nothing. It is h*llishly difficult to pretend that someone is just not there (especially Philippe!). I was quite relieved when he left as only then could I feel free to go into full soppy love-sick teenager mode (verr-y undignified in a lady of my advanced years). I don't mind approaching him when he does a "signing" as he is then (very generously) making himself available for us.
