I just come back from Froville where I've assisted to the recital A Purcell night with Philippe and his ensemble Artaserse !It's always the same problem : how to express pure beauty ? For me the most beautiful moments where "O solitude", "O let me weep", and of course "Music for a while". But the second encore was a jewel, too. I wanted to ask to Philippe what it was (I don't know Purcell very well) but when I was in front of him, I've all forgotten !! Ohme, I would like to know some details about the encores, these should be also jewels......I still hope , Philippe will record also Purcell , maybe later....after Caldara, of course.

Oh dear NoteSensible! How perfectly beautiful it must have been!!!Purcell is one of my favorites ever, especially O solitude! ...I am very happy for you, especially when he turns those beautiful eyes on you and you forget you have a mind!

Philippe will record the new CD with arias by Caldara this summer ( probably already in Juni - July) with Concerto Köln.

That would be an great gift for us all!

I understand you very well: all of us we left with a blank mind in presence of Jaroussky. I do'nt know very well Purcell, but the songs I've heard, performed by Deller, are really exquisite. I can imagine your emotion, your nervousness and that you forget all that you wanted to say.

I think that this arrives to us because Jaroussky is "un chef d'oeuvre sur pattes", a living masterpiece and we are left with open mouth!!
