That´s a bit strange perhaps, but I´ve some disturbing feeling listening to the certain duets there..... something like an artificial tension in the voice of Mr. Cencic....
I admire him as well, but here he sounds to me a bit...hm....a bit like an unsatisfied Primo Uomo ( with a golden helmet and a lot feathers on his head), who didn´t reach his megalomaniacal demands from the composer..... Perhaps, it was the artistical purpose, who knows - then it has succeeded .

The unconditional purity of Philippe´s performance is convincing as always, his voice sounds the way honest and full of radiant beauty which emanates the music itself and fills each note with incredible touching emotion...I can´t stop listening "Quanto mai saria piú bello" and don´t want to hide my tears ever....

All this is only my humble opinion, of course.

Max has a bit of a metallic bite to his voice sometimes, which comes out more in comparison to Philippes airy voice. Is that what you meant?

No, I mean the manner to sound here in general - Max has an very strong, sonorous, round and brilliant voice, but I feel him here sometimes sounding like sour ...

I know what you mean. I saw that in the recording sessions, my ear is not very good I must confess

If you watch the videos you actually see that Cencic is very serious, I do not know how he uses to be, but he seems very rigid. He is not enjoying his work, at least from my point of view. I saw him in other performances he looks more lively and happier.

Philippe is also very concentrated but he looks in good mood and very attentive about Mr. Christie advices.
