Essen (" Bei Kerzenschein") on 10.06.12

An great late Renaissance- early Baroque spectacle, playful and dramatic, delicate and powerful, with absolutely incredible taste of musical style of the great age of Strozzi , Monteverdi & Co. !!!!!

I enjoyed this ( I felt it very short , though, with two wonderful encores!) concert, that is like an sweet and exclusive drug and you don´t want to stop listening and watching, of course!
M-m Lemieux was amazing , Mr. Jaroussky - sublime!

Concert in Baden- Baden ( 24.06.12 ) will be recorded, so we have to take care for the next broadcast!

Jana said it all! Fantastic concert, I was so happy that I decided to go there aswell. The Philharmonie is of course so much better than the curch in Halle.
I enjoyed it so much that I sat there with a smile in my face. I had a good seat from where I had a fantastic view of the stage.

In the background where candles, the light was a bit dimmed it was really cosy and the atmosphere very touching.



And yeah we need to have our eyes for this recording.

I am sure all these concerts will be splendid, those two are such marvellous singers, and just incredible as a duo! And it seems the program consists of real discoveries.

This is when they started to show him off as a toyboy first. Before that, the albums had serious covers. Und dann ging's los!

He can become serious again now, as far as I'm concerned. He is a man now, not a toyboy anymore. He looks better in a three day beard now with a look as if he just spent the night in a glass dumpster than with lipgloss.

I wouldn't say that he was treated as a toy-boy in that cover or anywhere. He was so young that he looks boyish, but I don't think he would be perceived as less serious. Don't forget that being lovely is an extra!! I don't think people buy his CD's beacuse of their covers, even if he weren't handsome his voice would remain the same amazing one. I assure you I don't complain when I look at him, it's a great bonus to his breathtaking talent [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Oh, on Heroes it is not so bad, he was young there. But the stylist went a bit overboard with La Dolce fiamma and Caldara, I believe.

I love La dolce Fiamma's cover!! He looks just amazing in that trench! You get me with Caldara's one, too much filters there!

I agree only in case of too much photoshop sometimes.

The subject is the most beautiful person himself. No need of lipgloss anyway.

Ah, fotoshop...the peril of modern times.

A good camera with an interesting lense, and original lighting, combined with the proper developing time of the film and the prints, gives off infinately more interesting pictures. Look at what Magnum has done in the last century! Pieces of art, those pics!

But one has to be a photographer for that, not just some idiot with a digicam and a computer. You need technical skills and vision for that. And a bit of luck.

Every time I see him, my Leica starts to itch...but he doesn't like camera's....so I leave Leici home.

Doesn't he like cameras? I can't believe it, I'm sure he feel pretty happy with tons of fans freaking out for a picture of him, even if it can be quite stressing, at the end of the day he can go to bed being sure that he is in the dreams of a lot of people [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] He said once he would have loved to be a conqueror, I guess he actually is...

My style of photography requires me to hang around the subject for a while, and to just click without a roll of film until they forget I'm there. Then I get the loaded cameras and do the pictures. I do not want them to look at me and smile. Brrrr.

It's the "Opium" CD cover I'm not too keen on - it looks like they are trying to turn him into some kind of sex object for nerds. The content of the "Opium" CD is something else though, and it will always be one of my favourites. I do hope there will be an "Opium" 2 - it's such a rich, and until recently, neglected repertoire. More Massenet, please ...

I love him singing this kind of music, he has such a great sense of finding the right colours and other nuances to make it alive. (Not every singer is capable of this, and the result is a nice but boring performance.)

I wish he would record a CD like this program one day.
